Show Information
This is the second in our 2025 Demos to be held on Friday 18th July 2025 at 6.30pm to 8.30pm on the club field

Demo - Entry Level Dressage

We will be looking at and discussing:-
Preparation in the warm up
Understanding movements Intro and Prelim tests
What the Judge is looking for at that level
How to ride test to help balance the horse
What happens if something goes wrong
Expectations

This demo is to help those either starting out at dressage, having never done a test before or those who have started and are riding at intro and prelim level tests. The above topics will be covered and as this is an interactive demo you will be asked to undertake some exercises on foot and even walk parts of a test.

Chloe will be there riding a very novice horse, so anything can happen! but we can talk you through and show you how to deal with things that don’t go quite to plan and help demonstrate the above topics.

We hope this demo will dispel the myths that you have to have a supple, well trained horse to do dressage, at entry level, you do not, its about the horse listening to the rider and following movements inside boards. It should really be called “Schooling inside boards” at this level. Questions can be asked either during the demo or at the end and can even ask our rider to demonstrate as sometimes its easier to see than explain.

Jo competes her homebred at advanced level dressage as well as competed for the club at National level across show jumping, dressage and cross country over the years. She has also represented England for British Dressage at Home Nationals as well as Inter Regionals over the years. She has show jumped up to Foxhunter level with her eventing mare, Greenfinch’s Juno which is now retired. She has been coaching for 30+ years across all levels of the discipline and has a passion for coaching and helping the rider their achieve their goals.

Chloe has produced her own pony over the years across show jumping, dressage and eventing with much success, representing both the club at National and area levels winning titles in her own name as well as part of the Club’s Junior teams. She has also competed for England with British Dressage Youth where her team won the title. She is a very successful horse trainer setting herself up in business after her A levels, she will be bringing one of her client’s very novice horse’s.
