Show Information

We will be running our first demo evening on Friday 13th June 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the club field

How to Improve Your Showjumping - 13 June 2025

How to:
Walk a course
Understand distances and strides
Plan your turns and lines
Improve your time

This demo is aimed at helping riders to improve their show jumping by improving their preparation before, during and after show jumping a course. We will look at the above above topics.

You will be shown how the above is put into practice with what a good round looks like and then we will talk you through how to walk a course, looking at strides and turns and planning your way round the course, finishing off with how to ride an effective jump off round to improve times. This is an interactive demo so questions can be asked and the demo rider can help to explain any questions asked and there will be some walking involved.

Whilst the demo will be about improving jumping preparation, some flat work exercise will be discussed and demonstrated. Beth will be riding Afi to help show you what we are talking about as sometimes it is easier to see than explain and she can also demonstrate answers to any questions asked should it be the case.

We hope this demo will give a better understanding on how to ride a show jumping course rather than just sitting and steering hoping to get a clear round. With better knowledge you will rider a better course.
