The Course will be open from 10:00am to 12:30pm, but entrants must select a half-hour starting time slot (10:00-10:30, 10:30-11:00 etc) when entering.  Entries will be taken on the day, to start between 11.00 and 12.30 ONLY.

Please ensure that you finish the course by 3:00pm when the stewards will be stood down.

Show Information

The Vine and Craven Hunt would like to thank The Earl of Huntingdon and the Balding Family for their kind co-operation and for the use of the course.
The ride covers approximately 8 miles over beautiful downland and farmland past the famous Watership Down. It is aimed at riders of all abilities, with optional jumps of varying heights. Every line of jumps will be stewarded. A rosette will be presented to every rider who completes the course.

DIRECTIONS
The ride will start and finish at the Kingsclere Cross Country Course. The entrance is at the top of the hill south of Kingsclere on the Overton/Whitchurch road (B3051).

Entries can be made either online or by post. For postal entries, please go to vineandcravenhunt.co.uk and open the event schedule.
You can book using our Secure Online Entry System.   Payment is secure and it goes directly to Vine & Craven Hunt. You will receive an email confirmation of your booking and payment.

For online entries, the receipt of the entry fee will be taken as your agreement to abide by the rules and the conditions of entry.
Online entries to be received by 10.00am Saturday 26th April: £35 per rider        Children 15 years and under: £20 per rider (Children under 12 must be escorted by an adult)

Entries on the day: £40 per adult, £25 per child

Withdrawals/Refunds

No entries will be refunded without a medical or vet’s certificate (except as in Rule 3, or if the event is cancelled).
All refunds will be subject to a £5 deduction to cover administration costs (including in the event of postponement or cancellation of the ride).

Terms & Conditions

For online entries, the receipt of the entry fee will be taken as your agreement to abide by the rules and the conditions of entry.   

RULES

  1. Hard hats which meet the current BSI standards and body protectors are strongly recommended.  Appropriate cross-country dress to be worn.
  2. Horses and ponies must be at least four years old.
  3. Any horse or pony showing signs of infectious disease, eg EHV, or coming from a yard with suspected or confirmed cases, must not attend. Please contact us for a refund or to transfer your entry to another ride.
  4. Children under twelve must be escorted by an adult.
  5. Riders must not deviate from the course under any circumstances and must not jump any unflagged fences.
  6. Any rider riding in a dangerous or reckless manner will be sent home.
  7. No entries will be refunded without a medical or vet’s certificate (except as in Rule 3, or if the event is cancelled).
  8. All refunds will be subject to a £5 deduction to cover administration costs (including in the event of postponement or cancellation of the ride).
  9. The decision of the organizers on any matter shall be final.
  10. Dogs to be kept on a lead at all times.
  11. No horse/pony may be ridden round the course more than once.
  12. Every effort should be made to give way to faster riders and likewise, faster riders must respect slower riders and make every effort to avoid upsetting slower horses when they pass.
  13. No horses/ponies, spectators or vehicles are permitted on the gallops at any time. 

The Vine & Craven Hunt, the Owners of the property, the organizers, all persons and all organizations involved in this ride disclaim all liability for any damage to any person or property that may happen from any cause or circumstance, or for any legal proceedings arising.  All participants and other interested persons are responsible for making their own insurance arrangements.
