Strictly Come Showing – new class! Competitors ride an individual freestyle display not to exceed 90secs. Judged 50% turnout and 50% showmanship. To include LR, riders must be 4yrs and over. Any type H/P. Sequins, feathers, bling encouraged, but not necessary.
Entries will go in to the ring one after the other to complete their freestyle, and presentations will be made at 12pm next to the shop, if you are unable to attend due to a clash with classes, and you had been awarded a place, you may pick up your rosette from the secretary’s office

There will be a one off charge of £2.00 per competitor to cover First Aid
Rosettes to 4th. Classes may be split if sufficient entries
Donations from the proceeds of this show will be made to Metheringham Animal Welfare Supporters (MAWS), which makes donations to local animal charities, and Young Lives V Cancer
This show is affiliated to:
- COLOURED HORSE AND PONY SOCIETY (CHAPS UK) Championship Show to be held on 14th – 16th August 2025, affiliation number 25-013. Both Owner and the Rider/Exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK), nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However, in order to Qualify, both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current Showing Member and have a valid Qualifier card. Members to apply to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate Qualifier cards.
- EQUIFEST, at Arena UK, Grantham 6th – 9th August 2025. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.
- EQUINE SPORTS UK (ESUK) Grassroots Championships taking place at Arena UK, Grantham, 31st July – 2nd August 2025. The three highest placed exhibits will qualify in each class. Qualification cards will be given out in the relevant classes.
- SENIOR SHOWING AND DRESSAGE LTD (SSADL) National Championship to be held at Onley Equestrian Centre 21st/22nd September 2025. 1st round for London International. The two highest placed exhibits with qualification cards qualify.
- SIDE SADDLE ASSOCIATION (SSA) National Show at Addington Manor 25th – 27th July 2025
- TRADITIONAL GYPSY COB ASSOCIATION World Extravaganza 31st July – 3rd August at Willoughby Park, Rugby. The three highest placed exhibits qualify.
- THE SHOWING REGISTER AMATEUR OF THE YEAR Christmas themed final 6th/7th December 2025 at Stoneleigh Park. Qualification cards awarded to two highest placed competitors.
If entering any of the above qualifying classes, it is the competitor’s responsibility to adhere by the relevant rules, and obtain qualification cards where necessary before the Show. We follow each separate Society’s rules on welfare, so please do not be offended if we ask you to abide by them. Our insurance requests that all entrants have to wear acceptable protective head gear.

SLRC SHOW RULES
(Run under BRC Guidelines and Qualification rules)
1 LIABILITY - whilst every care will be taken, the organisers are NOT responsible for any accident, injury, damage, illness of horse, or any loss to horses, riders, owners, spectators, or any person’s property or vehicles whatsoever. For your Health and Safety, please take notice of these rules and any signage.
2 Everyone mounted, whether a competitor or not, MUST wear protective headgear, containing a permanently fitted non-detachable retaining harness, secured to the shell at more than two points. Such headgear must be worn with the harness properly fitted and adjusted. Failure to do so will incur elimination. It is recommended that all riders wear BSI Kitemarked or Inspect IC marked headwear, eg PAS 015 2011, VG1 01.040:2014, BS EN 1384 (2023).
3 Excessive use of whips and spurs will not be tolerated, neither will abusive language nor behaviour. Anyone found to be in breach of this rule will be asked to leave the showground and all entries forfeited.
4 Swearing or abuse directed towards a judge, steward or Club representative will not be tolerated – anyone so doing will be banned from the show.
5 It is at the discretion of the organisers to alter/amalgamate/omit any classes, eliminate any entrants flouting the rules and refuse entry. No entry fees will be refunded on the day under any circumstances unless cancelled by the organisers.
6 The judges’ decisions are final. Anyone wishing to lodge a complaint with the Secretary should do so in writing within 15 minutes of the incident, with a £20 deposit (refunded if complaint withheld).
7 The organisers take no responsibility for competitors missing classes for whatever reason. It is the competitor’s responsibility to space class entries accordingly if competing in more than one class and/or more than one mount.
8 All rider/handler ages as at 1st January. Juniors must be 17 years old and under.
9 All stallions must be handled by a person 14 years and over.
10 All ridden horses/ponies must be four years old and over. (the only exception is in hand youngstock classes.)
11 No unauthorized person to enter any ring during classes. No person to enter any ring without a steward present at any other time.
12 No horse/pony to be ridden in a faster gait than walk outside of the rings and warm up arenas.
13 Horses/ponies are not to be left unsupervised when tied to outside of lorries and trailers.
14 Vaccinations of equines are recommended, but not compulsory.
15 Under BRC rules for the welfare of equines, it is suggested entering three classes is the limit.
16 BRC is committed to ensuring inclusivity and celebrates diversity within BRC activities by removing barriers to participation.
17 Conditions of Entry – competitors must read, understand and agree to abide by the SLRC Show Rules, BRC Code of Conduct for the welfare of the horse/pony, and Conduct of BRC members.
