Arena Eventing CHAMPIONSHIP Terms and Conditions

Rules

  • The competition will be run under British Eventing Arena Eventing Rules. All participants are expected to familiarise themselves with and adhere to these rules.

Entries

  • Each competitor may enter each class only once per event.

  • Competitors may enter multiple classes (e.g., 70cm and 80cm) at the same event.

Qualification for the Championship

  • The top 10 competitors in each class at the qualifiers will qualify for the Championship on 23rd March 2025.

Class Winners

  • The winner of each class, both during the qualifiers and at the Championship, will be determined by the competitor who jumps clear and finishes closest to the optimum time.

Points System

  • Points are awarded based on placing in the qualifiers:

    • 1st place: 10 points

    • 2nd place: 9 points

    • Continuing down to 10th place: 1 point

  • Points from all qualifying events are added together to determine standings going into the Championship.

Overall Champion

  • The overall Dorset Showground Arena Eventing Champion 2025 will be the competitor who wins their class at the Championship and has accrued the highest total points across all qualifiers and the Championship.

Prizes

  • Trophies, rosettes, and a £50 prize will be awarded to the winner of each Championship class.

  • The competitor with the most points in each class will win a new Hay Hutch and be crowned the Dorset Showground Arena Eventing Champion 2025 for their class.

Class-Specific Points

  • Points earned are specific to the class height entered:

    • For example, if you earn 10 points in the 70cm class, those points count only toward the 70cm Championship standings.

  • Points cannot be transferred between class heights:

    • For example, competing in the 80cm class does not add to your 70cm class points.

  • Competitors are scored based on the most points accumulated at each height throughout the series.

Horse and Rider Combinations

  • Riders must compete on the same horse in the Championship as they did during the qualifying rounds to carry forward their points.

Safety and Conduct

  • All competitors must wear appropriate riding attire, including an up-to-standard riding hat and body protector.

  • Unsportsmanlike behaviour, including misuse of the whip or spurs, will result in disqualification.

Weather and Event Cancellation

  • The organisers reserve the right to cancel or reschedule events due to adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

  • In such cases, entries may be carried forward or refunded at the organisers' discretion.

Liability

  • Competitors participate at their own risk. The organisers, venue, and sponsors will not be held responsible for any accident, injury, loss, or damage sustained during the event.

Photography and Media

  • By entering, competitors consent to the use of any photos or videos taken during the event for promotional purposes.
