SHOW JUMPING RULES
SADDLERY & DRESS At all times the whip must only be used for good reason, as an aid to encourage the horse forward. In all Pony Club Show Jumping, excessive use of the whip, including repeated slapping down the shoulder, is prohibited. The rules (see Pony Club Show Jumping Rulebook) state that the whip may be used a maximum of three times after entering the arena. Use of the whip will be monitored, especially at the Championships, and excessive use may result in elimination at the discretion of the judges.
