· · Pony/rider combinations may enter up to 2 classes, plus a fun class. Fun classes are denoted with an *. On Saturday ponies may in addition with a different rider enter two classes from 1, 2, 3 at the discretion of the committee based on pony welfare. · Riders cannot compete on the same pony on both days. Ponies may come both days with different riders · Dress: CHRISTMAS ATTIRE IS ENCOURAGED BOTH DAYS. There will be prizes for the best fancy dress each day, but please see rules below re safety! If not in fancy dress, then jackets with shirt and tie. Body protectors and leather neck straps/martingales are recommended, and hats must be to standard (PAS 015 or 2011, VGI, Snell E2001, AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards) or ATSM F1163) and tagged (Non-PC competitors: If your hat is not tagged by BE/BD/BS, please ensure you request a PC hat tag prior to mounting) · Tack should be in accordance with Pony Club Rules. · Leading Rein Competitors must remain on the leading rein at all times when mounted. · The Pony Club reserves the right to refuse entry, limit entries, amalgamate, amend, cancel or close any class. FANCY DRESS SAFETY RULES Christmas attire is very much encouraged, however, as everyone is jumping, we need to also make sure everyone is safe. As a minimum, pony club tagged hats and proper riding boots are compulsory. For safety reasons, you can’t jump with any props in your hand/attached to your pony (i.e. any rugs/loose flapping items on your pony). Please also ensure you have nothing tied around the rider’s neck (i.e. no capes tied around the neck). If any member of the Committee feel that something is unsafe, they will ask you to remove it/change before jumping. Helpers are very welcome to enter into the Christmas spirit too and also come dressed up!
Payment Details & Event Fees
Bookings and payment in advance only. You can book using our Secure Online Entry System. Payment is secure and it goes directly to Jersey Drag Hunt Branch Of The Pony Club. You will receive an email confirmation of your booking and payment. Entries via MY RIDING LIFE by 23 November. Non-members to pay a Day membership fee (£5 per day) on top of the entry fees. Late entries will be accepted on the day at a cost of £3.00 per class above the class fee.
Class Rules LIKE FOR LIKE – ridden over two rounds, combination with the closest matching time between their 2 rounds and least faults wins. A7 (TABLE A7) – first round not against the clock, all clears go through to a “jump-off” over a shortened course where the fastest combination with the least faults wins. ACCUMULATOR – points are awarded for each jump that is jumped clear, with the points increasing for each jump. The winner is the competitor that scores the most points in the fastest time. ACCUMULATOR WITH JOKER – as for the accumulator, but the last fence will have a ‘joker’ option, which can be up to 10cm higher than the rest of the fences, the joker scores extra points and also loses points if knocked down. TWO-PHASE – first round and jump-off combined, combination jumps round one and if they are clear they go straight into the timed jump-off against the clock without interruption or halting in between rounds. PAIRS BATON RELAY – the first competitor jumps half the course, must hand over their baton for the next competitor to start and complete the course. The pair that complete the course the fastest will be the winners. It is £3 per competitor. If you don’t have a pair you can enter and we will find you one. BAREBACK JUMPING – Neck strap and body protectors must be worn. Entries accepted at the discretion of the Committee. The class will be run as an accumulator.
