Competitors will jump a course of (8-10) show jumps immediately followed by (10-12) cross country fences,including a water fence and will finish with the last fence as a show jump, the joker fence .The joker fence will be approximately 10cm higher than the rest of the course (this is not optional), if you knock the Joker fence down you will incur 6 penalties. The optimum time will be based on a speed of 375mpm for AE100 and AE100Open, 360mpm for AE90 and 350mpm for AE80 as agreed with the course designer depending upon the size and terrain of the arena.
First disobedience SJ - 4 penalties XC - 20 penalties
Second disobedience at same fence SJ - 8 penalties XC - 40 penalties
Third disobedience SJ - Elimination XC - Elimination
Knock down of obstacle SJ - 4 penalties
Knock down of Joker fence - 6 penalties
Fall of horse/ rider - Elimination
Every commenced second in excess of the optimum time SJ & XC 0.4 penalties
Every commenced second in excess of 5 seconds under the optimum time SJ & XC 0.4 penalties
Exceeding time limit, error of course, retaking obstacle already jumped - Elimination

Should you receive an injury as the direct result of an accident occurring whilst you are participating in any event organised by an affiliated event organiser, any medical reports relating to your condition will be passed to British Eventing. Any medical reports passed to British Eventing will be held on your records and passed in confidence to the UK Transport Research Lab for the purposes of safety analyses.
The competitor confirms that they have appropriate third-party insurance cover in place for the day of the competition for which they are entering. The competitor agrees to comply with all the relevant BE rules as detailed in the BE Rules and Members' handbook, including those relating to vaccinations & BEFAR (BEF Anti-Doping Rules).
