This is a three-round competition. All horses/ponies jumping clear in the first round, or if there are fewer than 10 clear rounds, the 10 horses/ponies with the least number of faults go forward to the second round, carrying forward any faults incurred with them. Round two is jumped over a puissance-type course of single fences, not against the clock. Horses/ponies with the highest number of faults in the first round will jump first, followed by those with the next highest and so on. If there is equality of faults after the second round, there will be a jump-off over a shortened version of the first course. Lower placings will be decided first on the total number of faults, then on the time taken in the first round

Special Classes

 15. Rules for Grand Prix Classes: This is a three-round competition. Lower placings will be decided first on the total number of faults, then on the time taken in the first round.

16. Rules for Eraser Stakes: This competition will be run as Table A4 with the exception that for the last obstacle of the course, an alternative obstacle will be provided.  The alternative obstacle will not be less than 10cms and not more than 15cms greater in height of the class and will be known as the “Eraser Fence”.  Each competitor may then choose to jump one or other of the alternatives which form the last obstacle.  Any competitor who has incurred faults prior to the last obstacle and who jumps the “Eraser Fence” clear will then have four faults “erased” from his/her total score for his/her round (i.e., a four-fault round prior to the last obstacle will then count as a clear, an eight-fault round prior to the last obstacle will be reduced to a four-fault total).  Any error incurred whilst jumping the “Eraser Fence” will be penalised in faults in the same manner as for any normal fence (i.e., knockdown will incur four faults and will be added to the penalties incurred prior to jumping the “Eraser Fence”).  The choice to jump the “Eraser Fence” is entirely at the discretion of the competitor and there will be no signal made to inform the rider whether or not he/she has incurred faults in his/her round prior to the last fence.  Placings will be determined on faults and time after any adjustments have been made for successfully jumping the “Eraser Fence”.

17. Rules for Championship Classes: These classes will be run under Table A9.  At the conclusion of the first round, all clear rounds, or, if there are less than 5 clear rounds, those 5 with the least faults in the first round will qualify to go forward to the jump-off.  If there is a tie for 5th place, the fastest competitor will qualify.  The placings will be determined by adding together faults incurred in both rounds.  In case of equality of faults, the fastest time in the jump-off will determine the final placings.  Lower placings for competitors not taking part in the jump-off will depend on the faults and time in the first round.

Withdrawals/Refunds

Refund of entry money will be paid in accordance with Rule 79.5. Competitors entering a drawn order class after the draw has taken place will be required to go first.
