CONDITIONS AND RULES GENERAL
1. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry
2. No horse may run more than once in any class,
3. The rules governing marking the course, definitions of faults and method of judging are those given in the current BE Rules. There are however special rules for the Timed Section and Pairs.
4. There are 4 courses, all over fixed fences and approximately 2.2 km (1.25 miles) of permanent pasture.
YELLOW NUMBERS for the 70cm, Max Height 70cms Optimum Time for Timed Section will be calculated at 435 mpm, PURPLE NUMBERS for the 80cm & 80cm PAIRS classes Max Height 80cms – Optimum Time for Timed Section will be calculated at 435 mpm ORANGE for the 90cm AND 90cm PAIRS classes Max Height 90cms - Optimum Time for Timed Section will be calculated at 450 mpm PINK for the 100cm class Max Height 1m - Optimum Time for Timed Section will be calculated at 475 mpm
5. All competitors are responsible for making way for and not impeding overtaking competitors, especially in the Timed Section. Inconsiderate riding leading to obstructing another competitor could lead to elimination, at the Judge's discretion.
6. CLASSES 3 & 5: PAIRS Will be penalized on dressing at certain fences (see plan of course).
7. Elimination and Retiring. Any competitor who retires must leave the course immediately at a walk. Any competitor in Classes 1, 2 or 3 who is eliminated for 3 refusals may continue around the course but may only have three attempts at any one fence and then must proceed to the next obstacle. However, in the interest of safety, riders may be asked to leave the course immediately at any point after elimination. Riders eliminated in classes 4 – 6 must leave the course immediately at walk.
8. Walking the course. The course will be open for inspection from 2pm till 6pm (gates locked 6.30pm) on the day before the competition. Please take special note of the start and finish flags in the timed section.
SCORING AND RESULTS
9. Competitors will not be timed overall. STOP WATCHES ARE NOT ALLOWED. There is a timed section approximately half-way round the course – the competitor who completes the course without penalties and is closest to the optimum time (in the timed section). will be judged the winner.
10. 11. All competitors are to wear a crash helmet and back protector in line with current British Eventing specification. Cross country colours may be worn.
QUERIES OR OBJECTIONS
12. Questions about scores must be made to the Secretary. Objections and Appeals, which may be required to be in writing and accompanied by a £25 deposit, will be made to the Steward through the Secretary within 10 minutes of the posting of the results of the class. The deposit is liable to be forfeited if the objection is not upheld.
ENTRY FEES
13. In the event of abandonment entry fees will be returned less £6 administration fee. Withdrawals received in writing before the close of entries date will have entry fees returned less £6 administration fee.
HEALTH & SAFETY and DISCLAIMER OF LIABILTY
14. Neither the organisers nor the sponsors accept any liability for any accidents, injury, illness or damage to horses, owners, riders, spectators, ground or any persons or property whatsoever. 15. The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organiser, Officials and Stewards.
15. No Horse or Pony may compete in more than one individual class and one pairs class on the same day.
