CC: COMBINED CHALLENGE

Combined Challenge is a test of the ability and timing of a horse and rider to negotiate a show jumping course followed by a cross-country course. BRC run Combined Challenge competitions as follows:

• 70 Junior Combined Challenge, for teams and individuals
• 70 Senior Combined Challenge, for teams and individuals
• 80 Junior Combined Challenge, for teams and individuals
• 80 Senior Combined Challenge, for teams and individuals
• 90 Combined Challenge, a mixed class (seniors and/or juniors) for teams and individuals
• 100 Combined Challenge, a mixed class (seniors and/or juniors) for teams and individuals

Entries accepted in advance using our Secure Online Entry System only.
Payment is secure and it goes directly to West Wilts EC. Please check your email confirmation that payment has been accepted and entries have been completed.

Prizes:  Rosettes 1st - 6th place.

Canteen will be open for hot and cold refreshments.

Withdrawals: A refund, less £5.00 admin fee, will be made for withdrawals made via email before the close of entries on Sunday 18th August 2024. All withdrawals to be made via email – info@westwilts.com
After the initial close of entries (Sunday 18th August) no refund will be given unless replaced from the waitlist. These refunds will be subject to a £5.00 admin fee. The £1.50 booking fee is non refundable in all cases.

In case of abandonment (or cancellation of event due to any infectious disease) entry fees will be returned less £5.00 abandonment fee per entry .

CONDITIONS of ENTRY and RULES:
These Jump X Combined Challenge will be run according to the rules of British Eventing, except where varied below and the making of an entry constitutes acceptance of those rules.

* All entries and payments to be made online.

* Horses/Ponies must be 4 years of age or older.

* Horses/Ponies must have a valid passport and vaccination record and must have been vaccinated in accordance with current BE rules.

* All horses must not be under current investigation for infectious diseases including, for example Equine Herpes Virus (EHV), Equine Influenza and Strangles.

* All horses must not have been in contact and must not be kept on the same premises as a horse known to have or be under investigation for the neurological form of EHV, Equine Influenza, Strangles or Equine Viral Arteritis.

* Horses/Ponies must not be left tied up outside unattended.

*Points won in B.E. events will not apply.

*Hard hats (no fixed peaks will be allowed) must be worn to BE/PC/RC standards and must be tagged with new PINK Tag (2023 onwards).

*Body protectors must be worn and be of the 2018 standard

*Competitors should wear medical arm bands if they have anything they need to disclose to paramedics in event of a fall.

*Any horse or pony, which is considered by a Judge or the Organisers to be too small for the jockey, unsound, unfit or unhealthy, will be excluded from further competition without any refund of entry fee.

*ATV’s and motor-bikes are not permitted, unless specifically authorised by the Organisers.

*All dogs must be kept on short leads.

* Please clear up droppings or hay in the lorry park.

*All competitors will be required to print their own numbers , so each rider will require a bib to display the number.

*No spectators or filming are allowed in any of the warmup or competition arenas. Please use viewing areas.

* The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry. No horse or pony may compete in more than one class.

COURSE

All competitors are responsible for making way for and not impeding overtaking competitors.  Inconsiderate riding leading to obstructing another competitor could lead to elimination at the Steward's discretion.

ELIMINATION AND RETIRING:   Any competitor who is eliminated or who retires must leave the course immediately at a walk.
