Have-A-Go-At-Horse-Trials This element of the competition is for those riders who would like to have a go at Horse Trials, but for whom our Horse Trials event at Larkhill is a jump too far. The cross-country section is in a schooling field of fences, which start at 40cm. The Have-A-Go-At-Horse-Trials is aimed at riders and/or horses who: - have never ridden over a full cross-country course - aren't fit enough for a full course, or are coming back from injury and seeking a low level opportunity to assess progress - want to stretch themselves and their horse by trying all three disciplines in one day All classes will be run by allocated time order. Dressage Classes 1-4 - warm-up and test will be ridden on a surface (warm-up indoors) Show Jumping Classes 5-8 will be on grass. They will be judged under BSJA 2 phase rules. If the first part of the course is jumped without penalty, the second part of the course is jumped against the clock. Have-A-Go-At-Horse-Trials Classes 9-11 will only showjump over the first part of the course. Body protectors will be required for the Show Jumping, and Cross-Country tack will be allowed, as you will proceed to the Cross Country from the Show-Jump arena. Cross-Country warmup will be at the start of the course. There will be no optimum time for the Cross-Country element, but there will be a maximum time allowed. DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES AT THIS VENUE
Every effort will be made to minimise waiting times between classes, but please remember that the event organisers and their teams are volunteers who give up their time for your benefit. We are privileged to have the use of this site, please clear up all droppings & DO NOT feed hay outside of your lorry / trailer. Leave area tidy.
