Who's Who?
Sarah Brabrook
BD judge and was a member of the Training The Teachers of Tomorrow scheme.
The instruction she received cemented the principles used in her training today. She rode under the guidance of modern Classical Masters Charles De Knuffy, Herdwig Radnetter and Arthur Kottas, former Chief rider at the Spanish Riding School.
A passion of Sarah's is working with the horse in hand
Every horse is unique, and the perfect symmetrical horse is yet to be born!
Like us horses are left or right handed in both front and hind legs.
Horses carry 60% of their body weight in front. This causes an uneven distribution of weight over the four legs.
Often the dominant shoulder can become an issue when ridden.
Natural asymmetry is normal in horses but it effects their balance and performance when ridden if we do not address it.
This 1 to 1 session will look at your horses difficulties and you can learn more about the exercises that will keep your horse fit, healthy, flexible and strong.
Also learning more about your horses Natural Aysemetry.
Aiyana - The Country OSteopath
Horse and rider performance specialist and owner of The Country OSteopath a brand dedicated to health and performance!
I am a qualified osteopath for both humans and animals, a biomechanics coach and equine rehabilitation specialist. I have a keen interest in working with horse and rider combinations to develop their performance and improve their harmony, to move better, to feel better and to be better!
At this day camp, I will be taking each pairing through a ridden biomechanics assessment. What does that involve, I hear you ask?
- sessions up to 1hr
- a warm-up - time to see how you move individually and as a team
- we talk through what's not working, what is working and how we can make the changes
- If it is appropriate, we will apply the EQ Bands, time to put you through your paces. An elite resistance band specifically designed with the rider in mind!
- the session is a constant assessment and re-assessment with tips and tricks
- The sessions will also be videoed by myself - you will receive the video with annotations regarding what is going on.
ALWAYS ask questions! there is no silly question! We learn by asking. Im here to help you progress!
I look forward to meeting you all and spending a fun-filled day with you all!
Serena Whiting Equine Sports Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist.
Over 13 years experience working with horses, specificly race and high competition horses. Working alongside some incredable horsepeople including trainers, vets, farriers and varieties of bodyworkers to gain valuable experience. Combinding the 'old school' knowledge with modern day science we like to look at the horse as a whole taking everything into consideration whilst working on releasing any tension within their muscles. I have a love for taking the time with misunderstood/'problematic' horses and ponies where massage can play a valuable role in not only their physical health but mentally as well.
I will be offering insight into how massage and bodywork can help. Mapping out 'problem' areas on your own horse and how you can help them on a day to day basis with plenty of tips and tricks to keep your horses happy and supple.
