Show Information

The competition consists of a course of show jumps immediately followed by cross-country fences, and will finish with the last fence as a show jump, the joker fence, which will be set at a discretionary 10cm higher than the rest of the course.  There will be a maximum of 20 jumping efforts, 9 show jumping, 10 cross-country fences and the joker show jumping fence.  The joker fence is a compulsory fence and must be jumped.

All horses must have valid and up to date influenza vaccinations in accordance with rule G7 of the BRC Rulebook; Must have had a vaccination within 12 months of the competition and not within 7 days of the competition date.

There will be no scoreboard. All scores will be updated at frequent intervals on www.ridingclubresults.co.uk

  • It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure that they have read the rule book and that both the horse and rider are eligible and comply with the rules. 
  • A horse may compete in up to two classes 70 & 80, 80 & 90, 90 & 100 as an individual or part of a team
  • The time allowed will be based on 70cm – 340mph, 80cm – 350mph, 90cm – 360mph, 100cm – 375mph
  • Every commenced period of 1 second in excess of the optimum time = 0.4 penalties.  Every commenced period of 1 second in excess of 5 seconds under the optimum time = 0.4 penalties.
  • NO STOP WATCHES ALLOWED.  Competitors are NOT allowed to take mobile phones onto the course when competing.
  • Riders must be a current paid member at close of prelim entries.
  • Hats must have a visible PINK BRC/BE/PC hat tag in place before they are used for warming up or competing.  All members to have their hats tagged before competing.  Fixed peaks are not permitted in any competition where cross-country is involved.
  • Body protectors are mandatory for any cross-country competition and must meet the requirements of the current rulebook.  If a rider chooses to wear an airbag style body protector, it must be worn over a permitted body protector and if activated, must be deflated or removed before continuing.  Hybrid air-jackets are permitted.  Riders wearing Exo Body Cage (2000) protectors must inform the secretary at all events.
  • The use of head cams are strictly prohibited.  This includes use on the head, chest, bridle or any other part of the horse and/or rider.
  • Please ensure that you are willing and able to compete at the Championships prior to entering.
  • All competitors should enter with the expectation they will cover their own championships fees. KRC's reimbursement of these fees will be at the discretion of the committee standing at the time of the Championship.
  • All horses must have valid and up to date flu vacs in accordance of rule G7 of the BRC rulebook; (no boosters within 6 days of competition). If you are unsure, please contact krctamsyn@gmail.com
  • With immediate effect bib numbers will be permitted in all BRC competitions. This will allow competitors to print their own numbers if they do not have bridle numbers.
  • Microchips are compulsory by law from 1 October 2020 in England. You will be required to have your horse microchipped as per the England legislation.
  • It is advised that hair should be neatly secured and should not hang lower than the shoulder line when standing normally. Any item of jewellery or alternative medical treatment wrist bands should be covered up by clothing or gloves, if they cannot be removed and are worn at the riders' own risk.
  • Medical armbands are strongly recommended and must be worn on the arm and filled out with up-to-date information
