Four Double Clears will qualify - in accordance with Rule 316.6. b) For all horses born on or after 1 January 2019 irrespective of points. Horses will only be eligible for double clear qualification to Second Rounds if they reach the age of four years or under in the same calendar year as the British Novice Final - in accordance with Rule 316.6 Qualifies for: Senior British Novice Championship - Second Round. Qualifying period yearly 1st May - 30th April inclusive. Numbers to qualify: Those horses which jump a clear round in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off, in at least four Senior British Novice First Round competitions held in any qualifying period will qualify to compete in the Senior British Novice Second Rounds, irrespective of their placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A rules (Rule 191). Qualifies for: Nupafeed Supplements Discovery Championship Second Round. Qualifying period: 1st May-30th April inclusive. Numbers to qualify: Those horses that jump a clear round in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off, in at least four First Round competitions held in any qualifying period, will qualify to compete in the Second Rounds, irrespective of their placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A Rules (Rule 191). Four double clears will qualify - in accordance with rule 312.6 (b) For all horses born on or after 1st January 2017, irrespective of Points. Horses will only be eligible for double clear qualification to Second Rounds if they reach the age of six years or under in the same calendar year as the Newcomers Final - in accordance with Rule 312.6. Four double clears will qualify for the Senior Newcomers Second Rounds. Qualifying period: The Senior Newcomers Second Round qualifying period for the 2023 second rounds is 1 May '22 – 30 April '23 (subject to revision). If combined with an open: In the event of 30 or more starters the class will be split with two sets of prize money. • 1.10m Open: For registered horses ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members. • All horse/rider combinations eligible for the 1.10m National Amateur First Round will receive dual qualification of double clears, in either section of a Newcomer - first round/1.10m open competition. Please Note: There is a £5 admin fee for any names changes to horses or riders once times have been organised, and if you wish to change the horse and riders name that will count as a new late entry and must be paid in full.

Prize Information

BS Classes:

 Any prize money that is due will be refunded to the card that you made your booking with. If your prize money is greater than your entry fee please email us with the appropriate bank details so that we can process your prize money for you.

 

Unaffiliated / BS Club Classes:

Prize money to 3rd place will be awarded for every 5 starters:

5+ Starters = 1st Place £15

10+ Starters = 2nd Place £10

15+ Starters + 3rd Place £5

At all shows that Amy from Indy Equine Photography attends with 50 plus entries, she will give one free image to the winner of each class. (classes must have 5+ entries)

In the unlikely case that we have less than 45 starters prize money will not be paid out.

Withdrawals/Refunds

Withdrawals/Refunds:
In the event of abandonment entry fees will be returned less £2 administration fee or entries can be carried over to another competition. Withdrawals received in writing before the close of entries will have entry fees returned less £2 administration fee or entries can be carried over to another competition. On and after the closing date of entries no refunds will be made. The £1.50 booking fee is non refundable under any circumstances.

Refund and Cancellation Policy for Entries:
o Accepted entries implies acceptance of the terms & conditions of the lesson/clinic.
o Your Entry Fees/Monies go direct to our bank account through a secure payment service provider.
o Administration fees are non-refundable in any circumstances.
o Monetary Refunds of payments will not be provided - refunds in kind will be processed e.g entries carried forward or vouchers provided.
o Refunds in kind will only be allowed in special circumstances and are at the complete discretion of the Organiser and may incur an additional administration fee.
o Refunds in kind from withdrawals are not provided unless in special circumstances. A vet certificate may be requested and refunds in these circumstances are entirely at the discretion of the organiser and may incur an additional administration fee.
o If an event has to be cancelled for reasons beyond our control then at our discretion the rider may be offered the option to carry through their entries/payments for entry into another event, space permitting.
o You will receive a confirmation of payment by email within 5 minutes of making the payment. Please contact us if you do not receive an email for any reason on the details given below.
o All transactions and online payments are made in £ Pound Sterling.
o Association Rules Apply where applicable and may over-rule Mendip Plains Conditions.

Terms & Conditions



An internal first aider will be present for the duration of the show. Correct PPE will be worm in the event of assistance being needed.
Ensure you pick up your horse poo and hay up from the car park using YOUR OWN Equipment
Bring YOUR OWN WATER for washing down and buckets.

Horse Riding is a dangerous sport and you participate at MPEC at your own risk and with out any reliance on MPEC, its owners, servants or agents for safety of yourself or your property. Due care has been taken to maintain the facilities in a safe condition, but riders must observe the following terms and conditions.

Terms and conditions for MPEC’S use of facilities and competitions:
1. The organisers reserve the right to cancel or amend and competitions or classes in any way.
2. A ‘Riding Hat’ designed to provide protection, must be worn at all times by anyone whether or not a participant or competitor, riding anywhere at the Mendip Plains EC site. Hats must reach at least one of the following standards: AII PAS 015: 1998, BS EN1384: 1997 – Provided that they are BSI Kite marked or SEI. Snell E2001 plus Snell Label with chin strap fastened as so to prevent the movement.
3. Body protectors – a British Equestrian trade association (Beta) approved and appropriately labelled Level 3 body protector, manufactured in the year 2000 or after, is mandatory for cross country and whenever else a body protector is required to be worn.
4. For all competitions, the judge’s decision is final. At all times, all competitors and other visitors to MPEC must ad hear to all instructions provided by stewards.
5. All persons under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
6. All rubbish must be disposed of in the bins provided. Lorries/trailers are not to be skipped out onto the car park, again please use skips and bins provided.
7. No horse/pony is to be left unattended unless secured in a lorry or trailer attached to a vehicle.
8. Dogs are welcome onsite but must be kept on a lead at all times. Waste is to be disposed of in bins provided.
9. At MPEC no smoking is permitted in any of the buildings.
10. Any facilities that are damaged must be reported to the office and paid for.
11. All accidents must be reported and an accident report completed at the MPEC office.
12. In all competitions the Judges decision shall be final.
13. There may be photography or filming going on at our competitions and it is your responsibility to let us know if you do not want to be photographed or filmed whilst at our event.

Health and Safety
MPEC has taken every reasonable precaution to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take reasonable precautions to avoid accidents occurring and obey the instructions of the organisers and all other officials and stewards at all times.

Limit of Legal Liability
Competitors enter and compete at their own risk and save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of MPEC its owners, servants or agents they agree not to claim for injury, loss or damage caused to or suffered by any person, horse or pony or any other property including vehicles in connection with or arising from any activity at MPEC whether or not the said injury, loss or damage is caused by the negligence of the owners or any other person or thing on the MPEC land.
