Payment is secure and it goes directly to Horsham and District Riding Club.
You will receive an email confirmation of your booking and payment.
£15 for HDRC members, £20 for non-members
Refunds after the closing date will only be given if a replacement can be found.
SANDS FARM EQUITATION CENTRE RULES AND REGULATIONS
YOUR SIGNATURE ON THE ENTRY FORM SHALL BE CONSTRUED AS ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. ALL jumping, dressage and showing classes will be held under the guidance of the relevant Governing body
2. TELEPHONE ENTRIES after the closing date or entries without the appropriate fee will NOT be accepted. Late online entries will be accepted, but your entry cannot be guaranteed until the fee is received. Entries will not be refunded except under the rules or guidelines of the relevant Governing Body, or on production of a vet’s certificate with a £2.00 deduction to cover administration costs. ALL ENTRIES ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE.
3. THE Centre reserves the right to cancel add to or amend any of the classes as it thinks fit; alter advertised times; refuse entry without stating the reason. PLEASE REGULARLY CHECK OUR WEBSITE and FACEBOOK PAGE.
4. THE decision of the Centre and/or the judges is final.
5. HEALTH & SAFETY:
(a) All events are organised in accordance with H & S legislation. The organisers will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of those attending the events. For these measures to be effective everyone attending must take similar precautions to prevent and avoid accidents and obey the instructions of the organisers, stewards, judges and other officials.
(b) Dogs are not permitted in the competition or car parking areas. They must be confined to the owner’s vehicle and kept on a lead in the lorry parking area.
(c) DRONES, bicycles, roller blades, scooters, etc. are not permitted on the showground
(d) Horses/ponies must not be tied up outside boxes/trailers and left unattended or tied to any fences.
(e) If any horse/pony has been in contact with any infectious disease it should not attend any events.
(f) No lunging is allowed in the parking or warm-up areas.
(g) All vehicles should enter and leave the parking area with due consideration for others and vehicles should be parked in a sensible manner.
(h) Hay and other rubbish must not be left on the showground and droppings should be removed. Droppings can be placed tidily on the Sands Farm EC muck heap.
(i)__Hair must be tied back and up so as to be no longer than shoulder length.
THE CENTRE’S HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY IS DISPLAYED IN THE SECRETARIES’ OFFICE, THE COLLECTING RING AND GALLERY
6. STALLIONS: The following rule applies to members and non-members of all organisations competing or preparing to compete at all events of whatever kind held at this Centre.
No person shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete in any show jumping or dressage competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk of injury. STALLION DISCS MUST BE WORN.
7. PROTECTIVE headgear to the CURRENT standards must be worn by ALL persons at ALL times whilst mounted. ALL riders competing in any competition must wear the current standard hat with chinstrap fastened. Body protectors are strongly recommended for ALL jumping events. Correct riding dress MUST be worn by all competitors. As stated in 5 (i) above hair is to be fastened so as to be no longer than shoulder length. Competitors are required to parade mounted and properly dressed to receive their awards; failure to do so may incur disqualification.
8. HORSES/PONIES MUST COMPETE IN THE ORDER DECLARED AT THE COLLECTING RING. Any competitor not responding when called will be placed at the end of the list.
9. PRACTISE JUMPS must be jumped from the correct side. Failure to do so will result in the competitor being eliminated from the competition. PRACTISE JUMPS SHOULD NOT BE HIGHER THAN THE CLASS IN PROGRESS. MISUSE of practise jumps, whips, equipment or saddlery will be reported to the relevant Governing Body.
10. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY: Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Centre, the Centre, its officers, servants or agents shall be under NO liability for injury, loss or damage, however occasioned, suffered by competitors, spectators, their property servants or horses in connection with or arising out of its own events.
11, ALL horses and/or their riders or owners must have their own insurance which includes suitable public liability cover.
12. OBJECTIONS accompanied by a deposit of £50 must be made in writing to the Secretaries within 15 minutes of the incident, such deposit to be forfeited if the objection is not sustained.
AT SANDS FARM EC JUMPING EVENTS THERE WILL BE A SURCHARGE OF £3.00 PER RIDER PER DAY TOWARDS OFFICIALS’ EXPENSES
HEALTH AND SAFETY
IN THE INTERESTS OF HEALTH AND SAFETY PLEASE OBSERVE THE CENTRE’S HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY DISPLAYED IN THE SECRETARIES’ OFFICE, COLLECTING RING AND GALLERY AND IN THE RULES AND REGULATIONS CONTAINED IN THIS SCHEDULE. IN PARTICULAR NO DRONES, DOGS, BICYCLES OR SIMILAR ARE ALLOWED ON THE SHOWGROUND AND HORSES MUST NOT BE TIED UP OUTSIDE LORRIES/TRAILERS AND LEFT UNATTENDED
SECURITY
UNATTENDED HORSE BOXES AND TRAILERS ARE AN OPEN INVITATION TO TACK THIEVES. ENSURE THAT YOUR TACK IS LOCKED SAFELY IN YOUR VEHICLE. OTHER VALUABLES SHOULD ALSO BE LOCKED AWAY OR TAKEN WITH YOU. IF YOU SEE ANYONE ACTING SUSPICIOUSLY, IMMEDIATELY TELEPHONE THE POLICE AND/OR ADVISE THE CENTRE.

Please be aware that Photographers attend our events and the images taken at these events are uploaded to their website to view and purchase. The images may also be uploaded to Facebook when sold for social media or used to promote the event. They may be used in magazines or local papers with your name and horse’s name. By entering or attending our events you are deemed to accept this, however if you wish not to have your photo taken please inform the organisers and the photographers on the day.
